My chic office wear – j crew black dress

Hope, you will like my first office wear outfit post. My latest chic office wear is j crew black dress. I mostly like to wear sophisticated dresses like this or pants and shirts to my work on the days when I am not wearing my scrubs. It’s hard to take your own pictures when you are trying to get to work. That’s one thing, I need to learn to take my own outfit photos. To be very frank, it was my first time shopping at J Crew. I had seen many bloggers rocking J.Crew looks. After reading this outfit post on “Franish the blog”, I noticed for the first time that J.Crew has nice clothes but never really went to that store. I am so thrilled to get this dress and it fits perfect, though I had to size up one size from Ann Taylor dresses. I always like belted dresses as it gives a nice silhouette and definitely gives it a chic office wear look.

This dress was $49 from its regular price $128 and I got extra 15%off with free shipping on my first order. This dress cost me only $41. I ordered one dress in navy blue as well and soon you will see that outfit post as well. As I was not sure of my correct sizing with J.Crew, I ordered one size up in both dresses and returned the non-fitting dresses back to factory outlet store in Tampa. That’s how I got the earrings that I wore in this outfit post.

Naturalizer Natalie pumps

These Naturalizer pumps are so comfortable, and this is my first pair of closed toe narrow heels as well. I wore them to work with my long pants as I did not want too much attention on me wearing them with the dress ;).   

It started to rain as I was posing for photos, so we just drove 10 minutes to Tampa Bay Marina and it was the perfect sunny weather. You can see rain drizzle on my other photos :).

I spotted this bag a few months ago in Dillards but it was not on sale. After searching online, I found it cheaper even with the shipping in one of the European online stores – Thelittlegreenbag.co.uk. So, it was not the impulse buy as I  had been looking for a large office bag for almost 5 years. Yes believe it or not but nothing seemed to interest me.

I am a very patient shopper beside the Macy’s dress that I bought at last minute. I usually don’t buy anything at regular price, but always on sale. This bag has a lot of room inside and does have a shoulder strap. It actually holds very well manilla folders. 13-inch laptop and journals. I hope, this bag will be one of my lifelong office bags.
