blue striped dress and statement earrings
So, I had a plan for Mother’s day weekend to go to the beach with my parents, sisters and their families, like all 13 of us :). I had picked out a perfect nautical dress for this beach outing but the plan had to be canceled because of Sunday rain forecast. When I had gone to pick up a top for my Mom, I spotted this blue striped dress in Macy’s and totally fell in love with the dress. With a strong thought that it will not look good on me, I did not buy it. I came back home with my Mom’s top only. When our plans changed to family lunch at home, I was in no mood to wear my nautical dress.
I quickly went to Macy’s and bought this dress on a whim without even trying. I thought if I don’t like it or my sisters did not approve, I can just return it. After trying this dress at home, I felt really good with the fit of this dress. This dress is not going back to Macy’s. Anyways, I am also 13 pounds lighter as well from what I weighed in March so I am super excited to show you this look of blue striped dress that I paired with statement earrings from Jcrew.
Btw, these earrings were also bought for blue nautical dress . I had talked about this nautical dress in my December post “winter travel style guide for Florida”
The dress came with neatly tied bow in front. I could never tie a perfect bow like this.

I have not shopped before at Jcrew and I found two dresses and two pairs of earrings from Jcrew factory store. I have not shopped much in the last couple of years but I have shopped quite a bit lately. These earrings are so versatile as the brass cap can be swirled around to get different colors of beads in front. It has different shades of red, orange and pinks.

I was in such a hurry, it was Saturday night right before the mall closes so just grabbed the dress, and laid over my chest and waist to see if it will wrap around okay and bought it. 🙂
